Cloak and LASER

This page outlines the use of stealth and assassinry in the L.A.S.E.R. system.

In the L.A.S.E.R. system there are three basic differences between a normal melee unit and assassins:

  • Assassins have the special ability to sneak attack.
  • Assassins have higher damage stats, but lower health.
  • All Assassins are proficient in melee and ranged combat, but their range is shorter than normal ranged units.
  • Sneak Attack:
  • Description: An attack on an unaware enemy that receives a HUGE damage bonus.
  • Possible Scenario: Assassins stalking the rooftops leap down on an unsuspecting patrol of troops in the street below.
  • Statistics: A Sneak attack rolls twice the normal # of dice for melee and ranged attacks.

Assassin Statistics and Hierarchy:

  • Scoundrel: Default (# of assassins)d2 + (1/2 # of assassins) melee attack. Default 5 health. Default ranged attack of 1d(# of assassins). Range of 20m.
  • Murderer: (# of assassins)d2 + (# of assassins) melee attack. 10 health. Ranged attack of 1d(# of assassins) + (1/4 # of assassins). Range of 25m.
  • Killer: (# of assassins)d2 + (150% # of assassins) melee attack. 15 health. Ranged attack of 1d(# of assassins) + (1/2 # of assassins). Range of 30m.
  • Assassin: (# of assassins)d2 + (200% # of assassins) melee attack. 20 health. Ranged attack of 2d(# of assassins) + (# of assassins). Range of 35m.
  • Ghost: (# of assassins)d3 + (250% # of assassins) melee attack. 25 health. Ranged attack of 2d(# of assassins) + ( 150% # of assassins). Range of 40m.
